Explore the infographics →I'm Travis Pence, from Denver, Colorado. I lived in Cuenca from 2015 to 2018 and came back in 2021; I've lived here since.
I started trail running after the pandemic and have run 23 races in Ecuador.
I made this calendar so races in every part of the country are easy to find, and so more people head out to the mountains. What I like most about running here is what you see on the way: the pajonal grassland, polylepis forests, lakes in the fog, and the plants and animals of the highlands and the jungle.
The photos on this site are mine. I post videos of the races I run on Instagram: @esungringoloco.

Some of the ones I remember most. Distances are what my watch recorded; each race's infographic shows the official result.
So you can check what I say, I publish the official results, the routes my watch recorded and the photos from each race, with links to their sources. Official times and watch measurements are shown separately.

Running, cycling, football and walking in Ecuador and Colorado, from Strava, month by month and year by year: each year day by day, against the other years, and its climbing week by week. My watch stopped working in April 2026; months without recordings don't mean I stopped heading out.
See the charts ↓Select a sport, place or personal record; under “A year at a time”, pick a year to see it in detail. Rings mark activities I confirmed as races. Dates follow the export calendar; its timezone is still unverified.
A public source, such as the organizer's website, publishes the race day. Each race links to that source and says when it was checked. If the date only appears on social media, the race says so.
It doesn't have a date, town and province published by a source yet. If you know the source, send it with the form below.
Open the race in the calendar and follow the registration link. Registration and payment happen with the organizer, not on this site.
Yes. Say which race, what changes and where you saw it.
Filter the calendar by province. The page address keeps your filters, so you can share it.
Include a link where the detail appears. You can also write to hello@trailrunningecuador.com.
